Safer Neighbourhood Team week of action |
||
Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team have been busy this week tackling concerns and issues aswell as visiting vulnerable people in their homes and meetings with housing groups to address problems with tenants within the community
Monday we held the drop in surgery at No 8, High Street where we spoke to many residents about our role and how we are here to help people aswell as answering any questions they had.
Tuesday we were invited to Pershore college for the Mental Health Awareness week which was an insight into how young people are feeling and how they are adapting to college life which can be quite daunting for some. Our presence was for them to talk openly to us about any worries they have within Pershore and happy to say they feel safe within this lovely town. Some of them were a little reluctant to talk to us but we soon broke those barriers down as we explained what we do as local Community Support officers.
The day ended with an arrest made of an Evesham male that was wanted for a number of thefts. He was found by Pershore officers and assisted by Evesham Safer Neighbourhood officers where he was taken to custody thereafter. More details will follow
Wednesday we had a joint housing meeting, we discussed any issues raised with their tenants and try to tackle those issues with visits together. We hold these meetings every month to see how moving forward we can all rectify those concerns that are raised. PCSO Bex Ashley and PCSO Jo Rice then went for a walk around with the Wychavon Community Safety Team as we have had some reports of empty alcohol bottles being discarded into residents gardens and left in a particular alleyway. The Community Safety Team are looking to have a bin in a communal area to hopefully help with this and we they will monitor it moving forward.
Thursday we had more foot patrols and engagement with local businesses and residents and more visits to vulnerable people within the community.
If you see us out and about please have a chat with us and we will do our best to help support and offer advice.
Stay safe and have a lovely weekend ahead!
